It's Spring, Isn't It?

Hooray! It's the first day of spring! Let's go outside and look for signs of the season.

Hmmm . . . that doesn't look springy.
.
Let's look to the east.

Okay. Let's try looking west.

Oops! What happened? Yesterday it was 72 degrees in Oklahoma City.

Surely we'll find something springy if we look south.

I guess not.
.
But wait! Here are those green shoots I find in my yard each year about this time. They tell me spring is coming.

This does not look promising.

Heck with this. Let's go back inside.

Vivienne has the right idea.

Let's try again tomorrow. After all, this is Oklahoma. As Will Rogers supposedly said, "If you don't like Oklahoma's weather, stick around. It will change."
.
One can always hope.

Friday it was 72 degrees in the afternoon. Today, Saturday, it is 28 degrees this afternoon with a 16degree wind chill and 87% humidity and snow coming down.there is a basket ball tourney in town and a FFA livestock show ad all these out-of-Staters are asking, "Does it really do this all the time?"

NO!

This is the snowiest Winter on record for OKC. In that winter ended at 12:15 P.M. today, this may also be our snowiest Spring on record as well.

Wow! I wondered if I would see pictures like this from you. I thought it might just be a nasty rumor.

Ha!

Better dust off your flip-flops. It's supposed to be warm this week.

Old Man Winter just doesn't want to give up this year for some reason. We have a wooden park bench outside underneath some cover and it was filled with roosting budgies last night. Poor things. At least they were out of the wind. I tried to get a photo but it just wasn't to be.

You were just teasing us with those tulips! (must have been last year's photo, right?)
I hope you'll show us this year's blooms soon.

Yes, Gayleen. Those tulips were from last year. I, too, hope to be able to show you this year's beautiful flowers soon!
